Terms of Use
These terms cover this website. They do not cover a trading product, because there isn't one yet.
Last updated 1 September 2026
1. What this site is
Rent Index is a pre-launch project. This website explains a concept: perpetual markets on published city rent indices. No markets are open, no orders can be placed, no wallet can be connected, and no funds can be deposited. Every action on this site other than the waitlist form leads to a “coming soon” message.
By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. Nothing here is an offer, and nothing here is advice
Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any token, security, derivative or other financial instrument. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing on it should be relied on when making a financial decision. $RENT does not exist as a tradable asset at the time of writing, and joining the waitlist grants no allocation, no whitelist place, no right and no expectation of any future distribution.
3. Reference data
The values, charts and change figures on this site are real historical figures, transcribed from the published sources named on each market page and on the methodology page. They are historical reference data, not live prices: there is no live feed behind this site, no market settles against them, and no guarantee that a figure is the most recent one its source has published. Where a city's data has not been sourced, the site says so rather than showing a number.
Sources are named for attribution only. Rent Index is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any of them.
4. Eligibility
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live to use this site. Access to any future product may be restricted by jurisdiction, and residents of some countries may not be permitted to use it at all. Those restrictions will be published before trading opens.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site in a way that breaks any law that applies to you;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its infrastructure or its data;
- interfere with the site's availability, for example by automated flooding;
- submit an email address that is not yours, or submit addresses in bulk to the waitlist;
- scrape, copy or republish site content in a way that presents Rent Index as your own project, or that misrepresents what Rent Index is.
6. Waitlist submissions
If you submit an email address, we use it for one purpose: to tell you when trading goes live, and to answer you if you write to us. We do not sell it. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time. See the privacy policy for details.
7. Intellectual property
The Rent Index name, wordmark, site design and written content belong to the project. Published methodology documentation is meant to be read, quoted and checked — quoting it with attribution is fine. Passing the site off as your own, or using the name and mark in a way that suggests an association or endorsement that does not exist, is not.
Third-party names mentioned on this site — including any statistics offices, housing authorities or land registries cited as examples of public benchmarks — belong to their respective owners and are referenced descriptively. Their mention does not imply affiliation, partnership or endorsement.
8. Third-party links
This site may link out to third-party pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their terms or their handling of your data.
9. No warranty
The site is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be available without interruption, that it will be free of errors, or that the information on it is complete or current. The methodology described on this site is the process the project is being built around; it may change before launch, and material changes will be published.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rent Index and the people building it are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website — including any decision taken on the basis of the reference data shown here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Operating entity and governing law
Rent Index is pre-launch and the operating entity, its jurisdiction and the governing law for any future product terms are published before trading opens. We would rather leave this section honest and incomplete than name something that is not yet true.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the project moves toward launch. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Contact
Until the operating entity is published, the practical route for anything relating to your data is the waitlist address itself: reply to any email you receive from Rent Index and ask. A monitored contact address is published alongside the operating entity before launch.
